Terms & Conditions.

1. Definitions

  • “Client” means any person or organisation hiring the Studio or acting on behalf of someone who does.

  • “The Studio” refers to the premises and facilities operated under pastl.studio.

  • “The Equipment” means any and all equipment provided for use during the hire, including but not limited to: lighting, stands, reflectors, coloramas, props, and furniture.

  • “The Hire Period” means the time slot agreed for hire (full-day, half-day, or hourly), including any authorised overtime.

  • “We” / “Us” / “Our” refers to the operator of pastl.studio.

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 All bookings are subject to availability and must be confirmed by us in writing.
2.2 A booking is confirmed only once we have received full payment or a non-refundable deposit.
2.3 Full payment must be received no later than 5 days (120 hours) before the booking. If payment is not received by that deadline, the booking may be cancelled and any deposit forfeited.
2.4 All fees are stated in GBP. We are not currently VAT registered.
2.5 Hire rates are listed on our website or discussed individually.
2.6 Overtime will be charged in 30-minute increments and may be billed at up to £90 per hour, depending on the time of day and studio use.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

3.1 Cancellation by the Client:

  • More than 7 days before the hire: Full refund minus processing fees

  • 48 hours – 7 days: 50% refund

  • Less than 48 hours: No refund

3.2 Cancellation by us due to emergencies or circumstances beyond our control will result in a full refund.

4. Studio Use

4.1 The Studio must be used only for the agreed purpose (e.g., photography, video, content production, podcasting).
4.2 The Client is responsible for the conduct of all persons attending during the Hire Period.
4.3 The Studio and Equipment must be left clean and in the condition they were found.
4.4 No nails, adhesives, or decorations may be applied to the walls or furniture without prior written consent.
4.5 Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Studio.
4.6 Cooking is not permitted. Use of the microwave in the communal area on the 1st floor is allowed.
4.7 Noise Control: The Studio is located within a shared premises. Noise levels must be kept reasonable at all times. Disruptive behaviour, loud music, or shouting that disturbs other tenants is not allowed. We reserve the right to terminate a session without refund if this is breached.
4.8 Props Delivery: All props, set items, and large deliveries must be delivered and collected on the same day as the hire, unless prior written permission has been granted.

5. Equipment

5.1 We will provide The Equipment in good working order but do not guarantee suitability for any specific purpose.
5.2 The Client is fully responsible for any Equipment used during the Hire Period and will be charged for any loss, damage, or theft at full replacement value.
5.3 Equipment must not be removed from the Studio.
5.4 Any technical issues must be reported immediately.

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Clients must familiarise themselves with emergency exits and fire safety equipment upon arrival.
6.2 Do not exceed maximum occupancy (6 persons).
6.3 All equipment brought in by the Client must be safe and fit for purpose.

7. Conduct & Liability

7.1 Use of the Studio and its facilities is entirely at the Client’s own risk.
7.2 The Client agrees to be solely responsible for any injury, accident, or loss incurred during the Hire Period, and for all persons present during their booking.
7.3 We shall not be held liable for:

  • Loss or damage to personal property

  • Accidents or injuries caused by misuse or negligence

  • Any indirect or consequential loss

7.4 The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless pastl.studio and its representatives from any claims arising from their use of the premises.

8. Termination

8.1 We reserve the right to terminate a session without refund if:

  • The Client breaches these Terms

  • Unsafe or disrespectful conduct is observed

  • Damage to the premises or equipment occurs
    8.2 We accept no responsibility to monitor or intervene but may do so at our sole discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 The Client retains all rights to content they create.
9.2 The Client may not use our brand, logo, or images of the premises for commercial use without written permission.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English law. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
