Terms & Conditions | Equipment Hire

Welcome to Pastl Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms & Conditions govern the hire of photographic and video equipment from our website and services.

By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of England and Wales.

2. Equipment Hire

All equipment listed on our website is subject to availability. We reserve the right to substitute equipment with an equivalent model where necessary.

3. Rental Period

The hire period begins on the agreed collection or delivery date and ends when the equipment is returned to us. Late returns may incur additional charges.

4. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are listed in GBP (£) and may be subject to VAT where applicable.

  • Full payment, including any deposit, must be made prior to collection or dispatch.

  • We reserve the right to cancel bookings where payment is not received.

5. Security Deposit

A refundable deposit may be required. This will be returned within 7 days of the equipment being returned and inspected, subject to any deductions for loss or damage.

6. Use of Equipment

You agree to:

  • Use the equipment responsibly and only for lawful purposes

  • Ensure it is operated by competent persons

  • Not sub-hire, modify, or tamper with the equipment

7. Loss, Theft, or Damage

You are fully responsible for the equipment during the hire period.
You agree to cover the cost of repair or replacement in the event of:

  • Loss or theft

  • Accidental or negligent damage

We strongly recommend that you obtain appropriate insurance cover.

8. Insurance

You may be required to provide proof of insurance covering hired equipment. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your booking.

9. Delivery & Collection

  • Delivery and collection services may be offered at additional cost

  • Risk transfers to you upon delivery or collection

  • You must ensure someone is available to receive or hand over the equipment

10. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the hire period may be eligible for a full or partial refund

  • Late cancellations may incur charges

  • Refunds will be processed within a reasonable timeframe

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, data, or business interruption

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the total hire fee paid

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

12. Ownership

All equipment remains our property at all times. You have no ownership rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your hire immediately if you breach these Terms. You must return all equipment promptly upon request.

14. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection laws.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
